Volunteer Host Families are willing to open their homes to children in crisis and provide a safe and loving home and family atmosphere for them on a temporary basis. The average placement is 21 days.

What is required to be a Safe Families Host family?

You must be at least 25 years old, emotionally and financially stable, mature, law abiding, healthy, and active. You also must be willing to engage in a long-term friendship with a family in need, agree to not use drugs, and refrain from using profanity or engaging in other negative behavior that may impact a child.

Open your home and nurture a child; follow these simple steps to become an approved Safe Families Host Family:

  1. Fill out an application.
  2. Expect a home visit.
  3. Complete our training.
  4. Complete a background check and fingerprinting.
  5. Submit three references.
